Workshop Bookings
To book your place or request more information, please use the Contact page to get in touch as I can’t always answer the phone if I am working with glass & Facebook hides my messages. My email isn’t published on here as it’s an open invitation to spam bots.
I don’t have an online booking system as it costs extra & I would have to pass that cost on in class prices, which I would rather not.
Workshop Prices:

Workshops are held in my friendly & comfortable studio in Finchampstead. It has heating & air-conditioning - you won’t be sitting in a draughty old shed! All glass, use of tools & cost of firing is included in the price. Any necessary safety equipment will be provided. Hot drinks (tea & coffee) provided. Free car park on a level surface (no steps).
In the beginner's workshop you will start by decorating a pre-cut shape & then learn simple glass cutting techniques to create a small picture (approx 15 × 15cm/6 × 6 inches). This entry level workshop is ideal if anyone is anxious about cutting glass (& I know some people are). You will be shown how to cut, but you are in control of how much or how little glass cutting you actually do.
If you have already attended a beginner's class & would like to come back & make something else, please get in touch.
In the lantern decorating workshop you will have 4 pre-cut glass panels to decorate as you wish. The panels will then be fired in my kiln & I will assemble the lantern using your glass. The cost of the lantern is included in the price.
In the coastal picture workshop you will make a small picture (approx 15 × 15cm/6 × 6 inches) in a similar theme shown in the top photo. You will learn to cut strips of coloured glass to create the sand, sea & sky. You will then decorate the glass strips with accessory glass. The picture will consist of two layers of glass.
Your projects will be fired in one of my kilns & ready for collection approximately one - two weeks after the workshop.
See above for upcoming dates. If the dates shown are not convenient for you, please get in touch as I can be flexible, including evenings & weekends.
I try to keep workshops to 4 or 5 people, so I can give everyone my full attention, but if there is a larger group of you who would like to attend, please get in touch & we can discuss it.
The beginner’s workshop is suitable for age 12 upwards. I am unable to accept anyone under the age of 12 as my insurance doesn’t cover them. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Depending on age, minors may not be cutting glass, but will still be able to decorate & have the same number of projects. Please be aware that you may need to wear a mask, depending on what you wish to use when decorating your glass. The PP3 mask will be supplied to you at no extra cost.
The pictures shown are an example of the type of items that can be created.
