A fused glass picture showing a circular swirl of fish in a white box frame. The fish have been cut from 98% pure silver foil & added to a reactive glass, which creates the random copper effect on some areas of the fish. Copper oxide has also been used to create the bubbles & the entire picture had been capped with a pale blue tinted glass to contain the reactions.
The exterior of the box frame is approximately 19cm square (7.5 inches) & approx 3.5cm deep (just under 1.5 inches). The frame can be free-standing & leans back at a slight angle to allow the picture to be easily seen (displayed in photos). Or it can be hung (see photos for reverse of picture).
The glass stands away from the backing card & sometimes creates a shadow of the fish, which can also create a nice effect.
All glass pieces are handmade & fired in my kiln in Finchampstead & are fully annealed to strengthen them.
